Is this the face of a criminal?

Here's how I looked after spending 18 days in the Kootenei County Jail. It was a wonderful time.

For Sale

My car is finally out of the shop for a mere $2263.85 and it's ready to sell. All I gotta do now is buy some FOR SALE signs, get it detailed, put the summer tires back on, and park it where everyone can see it. Anybody interested in owning a '97 Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible in good condition? Let me know!

Happy Camper

Ok, ok... so I've been prompted to write an update to this this since it's been over a month now, and a lot can happen in over a month. Where do I begin? I think I'll just throw down some highlights in no particular order. Little Sasha is smiling all the time now, and sleeps most of the way through the night. Yay! My sister's now married! They officially tied the knot down in Maui at sunset on the beach. How romantic... Speaking of romance, I've recently been dating a wonderful lady who's going to school over in Portland. Yes, the distance thing is kind of a pain, but we managed to spend every day of the last 8 together, and had a blast the whole time. It's amazing how much we have in common. I'm really looking forward to this summer when I get start working at Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp. It's going to be awesome to spend every day down at the lake just chillin' and singin' and hikin' and playin' and swimmin' and boatin'.... and getting paid to do it! It feels like it's already summer here, with temperatures in the 70's and sunburns and such. I start on May 20th... just 4 days before my birthday, in case some of you forgot. Think that about sums it up for now... I'll try not to let it go so long next time.

An uncle at last.

Today I got to see my niece for the very first time. She is even more beautiful than I imagined her to be. Little Sasha was born at 2:21 PM on 2/22/2007, weighing in at an impressive 8lbs and 14oz. I was officially the first of her uncles to hold her (making me the automatic favorite!) Here are a few photos of the cute little thing.

Arrested in Idaho

sorry to keep you all in the dark for so long, but nothing special's really been going on lately... up until this weekend, that is. I got my car out of the shop on friday night, just in time for a road trip to Olympia to see my sister. Well, they managed to fix one problem with my car, but gave me another one: the speedometer was broken. I was determined to make the trip anyway, and felt sure that I could manage my speed without indication. I was wrong. Just outside of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, I got pulled over for going 104 in a 65. I was promptly arrested for reckless driving. The cop said I could post bond for $300 and that I should be able to leave jail within a few hours. Turns out that just before I got there, their computers crashed and it would be a little longer. 12 hours in a holding cell later, I finally got to pay my way out. It was 1AM and I had no idea where I was or how to get to a hotel. Luckily, I called my sister and she was able to give me directions by looking on the internet. I got into a Motel 6 and got one of their last two rooms. To celebrate, I went to the bar next door and had a few beers. After hearing that I had just been released from jail, the bartender bought me a shot! The next day, I was afraid to go out and spend any money (I was extremely broke and didn't think I'd have enough to get my car out of the impound the next day) so I stayed in the hotel room all day and watched TV. Monday morning, I set out in search of a Western Union, since my sis was so kind as to send me some money for my little predicament. Unfortunately, the one I found was not open for several hours, so I decided to see if I could find another one. 4 hours later... still nothing. I had almost given up hope, but I caught a glimpse of a little yellow and black sign! I got the money, but after I called the tow company I realized that I was still $90 short, and that wasn't counting gas for the way home! My last hope was to give my roommate a call to see if I had recieved my PIN for my new sharecheck card. Thankfully, it had just arrived on Saturday. I activated my new card and I was home free. Needless to say, on the way home I got behind the slowest car I could find.

An Update

i'm writing to you from the airport in Vancouver. Yes, I made it here on time and everything! I was a little worried that I wouldn't, given my current condition. I was severely slowed down due to the use of crutches. I did finally give up trying to use them until I got here and checked my luggage. If you're wondering why I'm on crutches now, it's because I fractured a bone in my left foot during my 2nd day of snowboarding in Whistler. I traded one fantastic day of snowboarding for a visit to the medical clinic. How sad is that? Well, the trip up here was still worth it, and I hope to come back again some day. The snow conditions were amazing, and I heard one report on the news, while layed up in bed on my 3rd day, that Whistler currently had more snow than any other ski resort in the world! I guess I picked the perfect time to come carve up the powder. I'm on my way home now, and looking forward to a speedy recovery. Hope everyone had a fantastic New Years and didn't manage to injure themselves while partying.
